We had a wonderful Christmas. Aubrey and I had fun making cookies together. I think her favorite part was sampling the cookie dough! Mommy doesn't let her have sugar very often so she took advantage of the opportunity.
She had a ball opening presents. She enjoyed it so much that she wanted to open every present under the tree! I was getting over a cold and had laryngitis all last week. Thankfully I have my voice back but seem to have passed my cold onto Brad and Aubrey. Thanks to the cold medicine recall for children we have nothing to give Aubrey. She is still in a great mood and is her happy-go-lucky self. If it wasn't for the cough and runny nose you wouldn't even know she was sick.
She continues to pick up on new words and is enhancing her dancing skills (thanks to mommy). I tried to get video last night but when the camera came out she started posing instead of dancing. I think we have a future model on our hands :)
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and has a very Happy New Year!

Houston....We have a molar!
The nurse practitioner discovered it today during Aubrey's well child visit! She is doing great and meeting all of her developmental milestones. She is 94% for weight and 96% for height. Now for a drumroll...............WE MADE IT ON THE CHART - Aubrey is 99% for head circumference :) I guess her body is growing into her head size. You know what they say - the bigger the head, the bigger the brain!
She had 2 shots today and didn't shed a tear. She flinched with the initial poke and then looked up at us and smiled! She's a tough little cookie.
After the Dr visit we headed to the grocery. Being a cold and blustery day, I thought a nice cup of hot chocolate would hit the spot. Apparently Aubrey did too. She grabbed it off the cart when I turned my back to grab some pears and spilled it all over her and several other items in the cart. Being a mom, with all mom powers in tact, I snatched her up and ripped her clothes off faster than you could blink an eye. And there we stood, in the middle of Meijers, with a half naked child and hot chocolate all over the flooor......CLEAN UP IN PRODUCE PLEASE! After a thorough inspection for burns we proceeded to the clothing department. One quick wardrobe change later we were back in business.
Thankfully, the remainder of today was uneventful ;)

Bedtime Fun
I thought you all might enjoy some videos of Aubrey. I took them tonight right before bedtime. As you will see, she is not shy in front of the camera....

Thanksgiving
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a delicious dinner at our house with my parents. Aubrey was so stuffed after our big meal that she didn't want to wake up after a 3 hour nap!! We celebrated with The Grutter family in the evening where Aubrey continued to eat everything in site.....including wrapped pickles and her very first popsicle. There isn't anything this girl won't eat!
Now it is time to get ready for Christmas. I've gotten most of Aubrey's Christmas shopping done online and, after a trip to Target last night, I am convinced that online shopping is the way to go. We could hardly get down the toy aisles because it was so crowded.
On another note, Aubrey is finally getting her 8th tooth in. She will now have 4 on top and 4 on bottom. No molars...yet.

Little Houdini
This is my first ever blog. How exciting! I thought I would put together a site to allow friends and family the chance to see what is going on with us and watch Aubrey grow. I can hardly believe she is almost 16 months old. She is growing up so fast and is like a little sponge. She is getting so smart, learning new words everyday. Just today she started saying the word cheese! I think she liked the way it sounded because she said it over and over again. She is learning to dance from her dad...so you can imagine what that looks like ;). We are teaching her sign language and she does about 4-5 signs. She is such a happy and funny baby. Last Thursday, I went in her room to check on her after she went to bed only to find that she had taken off her pajamas and was only in her diaper. These were the zip up kind of pajamas with the feet in them. I wish I had a video camera in the room so I could see how she did it. We got a good laugh out of that. It never ceases to amaze us the crazy things she does.
I hope that you all will enjoy this blog and I have the wherewithal to keep this interesting enough to keep you coming back. Until next time......
